KIS Students and Faculty Are Quality Producers and Effective Communicators

We publish these photos and videos, and sometimes student work, on our Kailua Intermediate School website, official KIS Facebook page, and in our newsletter, as well as in other school and district publications. If you do not wish us to publish these images, please submit a signed and dated Consent For Release of Information to the school office.

2019 State Science Fair Results:

  • Sam Broff - 3rd in Category: Environmental Engineering

  • Ella Chapman - 1st in Category: Energy Physical, National Broadcom Masters Award, American Public Works Association & $50.

  • Katie Ellis - Participation award

  • Tucker Hills - 2nd in Category: Energy Physical

  • Catherine & Crystal Quigley - Board of Water Supply Award & $50, NOAA Award $100

  • Mya Thornton - 2nd in Category: Engineering Mechanics, National Broadcom Masters Award

Congratulations to 7th grader Blue team student Kainoa Hiatt who participated in the MLK Scholastic Chess Tournament at Moanalua Middle School. He won 3rd place and proudly wore his KIS shirt.

  • This year’s national essay theme required students, in grades 6 to 8, to reflect on why they honor the American flag. William’s essay will be submitted as Hawaii’s Department entry to the national competition.

William Chen, from Kailua, Hawaii, represented the VFW Department of Hawaii, and was awarded the $500 VFW Southern Conference Award at the national level of competition . VFW website
